Questar Invests in the Future
As a builder, one of the most important considerations in any structure or space is the effect it will have on the future. How will this Digital Media Arts Center generate creativity and innovation for future generations to come? How will this Cancer Center provide comfort and ease of mobility for its patients? What is built for the future is a testament of the past’s generosity and foresight.
On February 2nd, Questar Construction demonstrated its commitment to future generations and the environment by launching a new program called Sustainability Initiatives. With a focus on resource awareness, community stewardship, and social consciousness surrounding the environment and green habits, the Questar Team came together to discuss what it means to recycle, the importance of lean construction and hauling practices, and more. As a symbol of Questar’s commitment to be a more sustainable business, each employee received a Questar thermos. This will replace any plastic bottles or single-use drinking containers in the office.
In addition to this, Questar has equipped the office with new recycling resources to foster green habits and procedures throughout its staff. This includes recycling bins for each desk; trays for collecting recyclable paper at each station, which will allow paper to be reused for almost all internal documents; a recycling bin for the kitchen space; and even access to a sustainable font which uses less ink when printing. Questar has also partnered with the Orange County Conservation Corps to do regular servicing of our new recycling bins.
With this, as well as the new employee driven Sustainability Committee committed to further educating its peers, Questar will be making an active effort each month to better its practices in energy consumption, waste efficiency, and lessen its carbon footprint. Other exciting prospects for growth into LEED accreditation, Green building and hauling partnerships, and more.
